Groningen, Netherlands, 1993, in an alternative, more advanced world than we know. A group of soccer buddies notice that one of them is being attacked by an unknown creature and that another has disappeared. They quickly realize that something terrible is happening in their city and, together with two police officers, set out to investigate, unaware of the terrifying extraterrestrial event that awaits them.

Biografie

Joey van Rumpt was born in the early 80s and grew up in the era of video game consoles, blockbuster movies, and house music. Because of his great passion for film, after completing his law studies, he decided to make a short film with his cousin and the help of some friends. While developing the script for the short film, Joey spent a lot of time in Groningen because his cousin lived there in an old apartment on the Damsterdiep. The entrance to the apartment was in a narrow, dark alley, which inspired Joey to write a short script set in that infamous alley. Before he knew it, Joey had written an entire miniseries called "The Alley." Despite working on various film projects and writing and directing two short films himself, he never managed to adapt "The Alley" for the screen. To preserve the story, he chose to release it as a graphic novel.
